Basra / NINA / – The General Company for Ports of Iraq participated in the Iraq pavilion at the Dubai International Expo held in the United Arab Emirates, which opened in early October and will continue until the end of March 2022, with the participation of hundreds of international companies. 

The Director General of Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement: In response to the invitation submitted by the Ministry of Commerce and the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions, a delegation from Iraq’s ports participated in this global forum with the participation of hundreds of international companies that showcased their innovations in the field of science and technology.

He added that the delegations participating in the Iraq pavilion at EXPO 2020 Dubai highlighted the company’s activities and met international delegations participating in the exhibition and exchanged views with them in developing construction and promising investment opportunities. Noting, “The Ministry of Transport and the Ports Company is the first government agency that accepted the invitation to attend the opening of the exhibition hosted by the UAE in Dubai in its current session./ End

Iraq and the UAE sign an agreement to encourage investment and economic cooperation

On Monday, the Iraqi and Emirati governments signed an agreement to encourage and protect investment.

And the official news agency, “INA”, stated that “Iraq today signed an agreement to encourage and protect investment with the UAE at the headquarters of the UAE Ministry of Finance in Abu Dhabi.”

She added that “the agreement was signed on the Iraqi side by the head of the Investment Authority, Suha Al-Najjar, and on the Emirati side, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Younis Haji Al-Khoury.”

She stressed that “the signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the UAE, Muzaffar Mustafa Al-Jubouri,” noting that “the agreement facilitates investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.”
