Baghdad / Obelisk: The Independent High Electoral Commission clarified, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, the procedures for entering data for manual counting and sorting, while confirming that all the results of the ballot boxes sent over the air were matched with the memory stick.

Member of the Board of Commissioners, Muhannad Al-Ansari, said in a statement followed by Al-Masala that the process of counting and counting the manual and announcing the results through the tapes of the form that are attached inside or outside the center and that will be sent to the data entry center in the National Office, stressing that the process is carried out in the presence of observers for political entities and representatives of candidates.

He added that the majority of the boxes that sent their results over the air and the memory stick were matched and appeared to be identical, indicating that some of these boxes, which is the last meal, were blocked, and after their results were sent to the data entry center, they were also identical, where the matching process takes place between the QR device and the existing tape that carries The password for the ballot papers.

He pointed out that the results were sent on paper to the data entry center in the National Office to be added to the preliminary results issued by the Commission, explaining that the boxes do not contain equal numbers of votes, some contain 450 votes and others less than 100 votes, and this matter cannot be predicted. Only after opening all the chests.

He stressed that the issue of changing the results depends on the validity of the papers in these boxes.

The preliminary results of the elections revealed that the Sadrist movement, led by Muqtada al-Sadr, won the highest number of seats in the Iraqi parliament, with 73 seats.

The Taqaddam party led by Muhammad al-Halbousi came in second place after winning 37 seats.

The State of Law bloc, headed by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, came third with 34 seats.

Statements by leaders in the state of law and in the coordinating framework that includes it with Al-Fateh and a group of Shiite forces indicate that they intend to conclude an expanded alliance, to form the largest bloc within the new parliament, which entitles it to form a government, as they say.
