UNHCR and UNAMI discuss latest preparations for October elections

{Local: Al Furat News} The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, discussed with the Head of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Jenin Blaschaert, the final preparations for the October 10, 2021 poll. 

Khalaf began the meeting by providing a full briefing on the overall steps and the latest preparations at the level of Iraq for holding the elections, at the level of the efforts made by the staff of the Electoral Commission over the past months.
For her part, Plasschaert affirmed the continuous support of these preparations by the United Nations Mission and its unlimited cooperation with the current Board of Commissioners in order to achieve discreet elections that enjoy the confidence of the Iraqi street.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of the United Nations Mission thanked all the members of the Board of Commissioners for their work and for their constant follow-up to the observations that develop the electoral process and push it forward.
