A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a copy of which was received by “NASS” (September 12, 2021), stated that “the delegation of the Republic of Iraq was headed by Mr. Nizar Al-Khairallah, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the delegation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. (Chairman of the current session)”.
He added, “During the meeting, they discussed the joint action plan for cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council in the political, security, economic, educational, cultural, media, youth and sports fields, and the levels of progress achieved in implementing the contents of those areas, as well as discussing work mechanisms.” The future and expanding its horizons within the action plan, as well as reviewing regional and international issues, and the electrical interconnection project with the Gulf Cooperation Council, which contributes to strengthening and developing relations between Iraq and the GCC countries.
He continued, “The two sides agreed to activate the relevant memoranda of understanding, and evaluate the achievement of the strategic plan for cooperation with the GCC states, in addition to finding mechanisms for fruitful cooperation in all fields.”
