Baghdad / Obelisk: Adviser to the Prime Minister, Alaa Abdul-Hussein, identified, on Monday, August 2, 2021 , three goals for implementing the administrative and executive mechanisms of the economic reform plan that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced the start of its implementation.
In a statement received by the obelisk, Abdul-Hussein said: The official announcement of the start of the actual implementation of the administrative and organizational mechanisms of the economic reform plan represents the starting signal for all ministries, departments and the main implementing agencies for the projects mentioned in the implementation white paper.
Abdul-Hussein added that the organizational preparations to start implementation were completed by defining the reform program, and the program set by the current government will not only concern its work as much as it relates to the work of the state and its economy.
He revealed the economic program aimed at 3 points: achieving economic reform, correcting structural imbalances in the Iraqi economy, and reducing dependence on oil revenues by making the economy able to create jobs and sustainable development that will be positively reflected on the Iraqis.
Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi had started implementing the administrative and executive mechanisms for the economic reform plan, while presiding over the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Reform.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office conveyed the government’s ambition to restore the country’s economy to its strength after the situation had reached very low levels as a result of rampant corruption.
The statement added that the reform plan will provide a solution to the chronic economic management crisis, which is represented by complete dependence on oil, and the failure to diversify sources of income, pointing to the insistence on restoring Iraq’s economic prestige.
