Today, Wednesday, Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, discussed developing the oil and energy sector with the American side, and increasing investment opportunities, during his meeting with the American ambassador to Baghdad, Matthew Tueller.
A statement by the ministry stated, “The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, received the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, and during the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the field of oil and energy were discussed.”
Ismail stressed, according to the statement, “the ministry’s keenness to increase investment opportunities for international companies in Iraq, especially in the oil, gas and clean energy sectors in order to enhance and support the national economy.”
The minister stressed, according to the statement, “the role of American companies in developing the oil industry in Iraq, especially ExxonMobil, Chevron, Honeywell and others.”
For his part, the US ambassador expressed “the desire of his country’s companies to enhance cooperation and participate in investment projects in the oil and energy sector.”
