Shafaq News / The Joint Operations Command confirmed today, Tuesday, that coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Guard will contribute to securing the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
The spokesman for the Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said, according to the Iraqi News Agency, that “there is a lot of work being done by the Joint Operations Command in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government, as important centers have been opened for coordination in the movement of units and the follow-up of terrorist operations to fill the gaps on the Iraqi-Syrian borders.”
He added, “The security forces will work with the provincial guards to fill the gaps and close the distances that the terrorist ISIS gangs used to be present in, especially in the rugged mountainous areas where the movement of pedestrians, automatic pedestrians and footmen is difficult.”
Al-Khafaji pointed out that “this high coordination and exchange of intelligence and security information will contribute to stabilizing the situation, whether on the Iraqi-Syrian borders or in areas of common security concern.”
He explained that, “during the recent meetings and meetings with the region, it was emphasized that there would be coordination and joint work to fill the gaps, by intensifying the intelligence effort and working with specific operations,” noting that “what happened during the past days according to the intelligence information by the fight against terrorism.” Southwest of Hammam Al-Alil to the Air Force Command, which in turn targeted tunnels and sites that were used by ISIS gangs as hosts and dens to carry out terrorist operations, and before that there was an important intelligence effort in the Ain Al-Jahsh area in Mosul during which a number of ISIS militants were killed by an air strike.
He pointed out that “a great intelligence effort through which the Western Nineveh Operations Command managed to arrest a person who tried to enter Tal Afar,” stressing that “these operations and the distinctive intelligence effort and cooperation between the security forces and the citizen contribute to the pursuit and the fight against ISIS.”
Al-Khafaji indicated that “there is a development in intelligence and security work, and what the international coalition has provided in terms of several and number in armament, especially in the recent period to the intelligence apparatus when it handed over a number of wheels. This work and equipment also contributes to the progress of the security forces.”
