Shafaq News / The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced, on Sunday, the success of Iraq through strategic dialogue with the United States, by imposing time mechanisms for the withdrawal of the international coalition forces.
The third round of the strategic dialogue took place between Baghdad and Washington, on April 8, 2021, where they agreed to set a timetable for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.
Regarding this file, Al-Kazemi indicated, during an iftar banquet attended by a number of leaders and officers of the security and military agencies, that the government “succeeded, through real and responsible constructive dialogue, in imposing legal and time-based mechanisms for the withdrawal of the international coalition forces.”
He added, “This decision came after the Iraqi forces became more ready to take on security tasks in the face of ISIS remnants and remnants,” stressing that “there are challenges and needs that will gradually become available so that the security forces are fully ready to take on all tasks.”
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces continued: “We have formed a specialized military and technical committee to determine the Iraqi needs and necessities, as well as the mechanisms for handing over tasks from the international coalition forces.”
He pointed out that “Iraq is not a simple country in the region, Iraq is a country that has a deep and intertwined historical legacy in the region, and its heroes are the ones who defeated terrorism.”
He concluded his speech by saying, “It is our duty to deliver the military and security institutions to the highest level of performance and technical and armament readiness to face all challenges and fill all gaps.”
