The Finance Committee meets with the presidency of the blocks to settle the budget

Baghdad / Al-Masalla: Local media reported on Friday, March 19, 2021, that the Finance Committee meeting with the leadership of the blocs had begun, which preceded the session of voting on the budget.

She said that the decisive meeting began at the headquarters of the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the presence of the Presidency of the House of Representatives and leaders of political forces in order to resolve the issue of passing the draft budget law for the year 2021 and agree on a legal and technical formula regarding the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget.

Shafaq News / On Friday, the Presidency of the Parliament held a decisive meeting to pass the 2021 budget, in the presence of leaders of political forces, including the Kurdish one.

A parliamentary source informed Shafaq News Agency, “The decisive meeting has started at the headquarters of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, in the presence of the Presidency of the Parliament and leaders of political forces, in order to resolve the issue of passing the draft Federal Budget Law for 2021.”

The source added, “The meeting will include a final agreement on a legal and technical formula regarding the Kurdistan Region’s share of the budget.”

The Iraqi parliament will hold a special session at noon on Friday, to vote on the financial budget bill for the current year, according to the Parliament’s Media Department.

It is noteworthy that the draft fiscal budget law for 2021, which was sent by the Council of Ministers to the Iraqi Parliament, included a deficit of 71 trillion Iraqi dinars, before it was amended by the Parliamentary Finance Committee.
