{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Repin Salam, announced on Wednesday that the Kurdish negotiating delegation had provided all facilities to agree on the region’s share in the 2021 budget.
Salam said {to Euphrates News} that “optimism must always be the approach of the Kurdish democracy, and on the ground there are points that call for this optimism, including postponing early elections and ending the political auctions that followed them.”
He added, “US President Joe Biden also called Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazimi, according to the White House statement, which stressed the necessity of the Baghdad-Erbil agreement, in addition to Baghdad and Erbil being subjected to missile attacks.”
Salam added, “Baghdad did not abide by the provisions of Article 10 of the 2019 federal budget for the region’s share, and the salaries of employees were not paid for five months.”
“The Kurdish delegation provided all facilities, and we hope that the 2021 budget will be fair to all provinces,” concluded the member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
The head of the Kurdish negotiating delegation, the deputy head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, confirmed that negotiations will continue in Baghdad to solve the problems and ensure the financial dues for the region in the federal financial budget for 2021.
Talabani said in a press statement, that he “informed all parties of the need to adhere to the law and the constitution,” Pointing out that “the Kurdistan Regional Government is committed to its duties in exchange for providing all financial dues and salaries of employees.”
The delegation of the Kurdistan region, headed by Talabani, had launched a new round of negotiations last Monday in Baghdad over the region’s share in the draft federal budget law for 2021.
