Yesterday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Washington’s Ambassador in Baghdad Matthew Toller discussed three files, including ways to implement the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, that «the two parties discussed bilateral relations and how to deal with the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, practical ways to implement them, and mechanisms to provide support to Iraq in various fields».
The two sides held a strategic dialogue to regulate their relations during a visit by the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to the American capital last August.
On the security level, the Security Media Cell in Iraq announced yesterday the bombing of Iraqi F-16 planes, an addition to the terrorist organization ISIS, in Khanaqin, Diyala Governorate. The cell said, in a press statement: “The Iraqi Air Force F-16 aircraft carried out at dawn Tuesday, an air strike on a guesthouse of ISIS terrorist gangs in the Al-Zour region on the Diyala River in Khanaqin within the Diyala operation sector.”

In a related context, the Iraqi Intelligence Agency announced yesterday the arrest of three suicide bombers in Nineveh. The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency said, in a press statement yesterday, broadcast by the Iraqi News Agency: Its detachments represented by the Nineveh Intelligence Directorate at the Ministry of Interior managed to arrest three terrorists wanted in accordance with the provisions of terrorism for their affiliation with the terrorist gangs of “ISIS”. She added that the detainees worked as part of the so-called “immersion suicide bombers battalion”, indicating that they had confessed during preliminary investigations with them that they belonged to those criminal gangs. It indicated that “the terrorists have been placed in detention to complete the investigations and take legal measures against them.”
