A deputy in the House of Representatives revealed, on Saturday, an agreement to resolve the electoral districts with the election law.
The head of the Rafidain bloc in the House of Representatives Yonadam Kanna said, “The general trend in the House of Representatives is to agree that the number of districts should be from 3 to 7 departments according to each governorate,” noting that “there are objections by some blocs to these numbers.”
The session on the tenth of this month will witness a vote on this number, and the deputy Kana expected, “In the event that the opposing blocs do not agree with the parliamentary majority, the matter will be decided during the session by a majority vote.”
And he continued, “The components have nothing to do with these agreements, given that Iraq is one district and has a (quota) in the governorates of Baghdad, Erbil, Dohuk, Nineveh and Kirkuk.
