Baghdad / Al-Akhbariya: The
President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, confirmed today, Wednesday, that he spoke with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, after the missile attack that targeted Erbil International Airport, stressing that the response to this attack will be strong.
Masrour Barzani said in a tweet on Twitter: “I strongly condemn the missile attack tonight in Erbil. The Kurdistan Regional Government will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the stability of the Kurdistan Region and our response will be strong.”
He pointed out that he had spoken with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, about the aforementioned bombing, stressing the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
In turn, the Ministry of the Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement that six rockets were fired between the villages of Sheikh Amir and Tarjila in Bartella.
She added that this area is controlled by the 30th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the Ministry’s special teams are investigating seriously in order to obtain more information.
For his part, the Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region said in a statement that the Popular Mobilization Forces fired six missiles from a site near Mosul, adding that the missiles targeted Erbil International Airport.
