Shafaq News / The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has succeeded in reinstating the activities of 169 Iraqi companies and institutions out of the 230 entities banned by UN Security Council Resolution 1518, which classified Iraq as a “high risk” country, while seeking to lift the ban on the rest of the entities .
The spokesman for the ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said in a statement to the semi-official newspaper, Al-Sabah, published in its edition today, Thursday, that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, after meeting with a number of his European counterparts, the policy and security official in the European Union and other high-ranking personalities, succeeded in winning their votes and support to lift Iraq The list is complete very soon.
He added that the entities and institutions covered by the ban extend their work to various sectors such as investment, economy, industry and other sectors, stressing that lifting the ban on them will add support to the internal economy and facilitate their cooperation with the government .
Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein sent a letter to his counterparts in the European Union countries, in which he was surprised at the inclusion of Iraq on the list of high-risk countries in the field of money laundering and terrorist financing.
On the other hand, Oil Minister Ihssan Abdul-Jabbar revealed an expected agreement with the oil-exporting countries “OPEC” and “OPEC +” group to increase Iraqi oil exports, indicating that the reduction agreement between the countries of “OPEC” will continue until the end of 2021 .
Abdul-Jabbar stated that the high prices of crude oil and the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on the world will cast a shadow over the future of future decisions by the members of the organization, indicating that negotiations are continuing, and there is openness with everyone to mature decisions that contribute to the recovery of oil prices globally .
Regarding the fields shared with Iran and Kuwait, Abdul-Jabbar revealed the existence of a consulting company working on developing plans and factors for joint operation of the fields between Iraq and Kuwait. As for the joint fields with Iran, there are dialogues with the Iranian side to agree on final and stable formulas for operating these fields, and that the ministry It is working to develop the capabilities of its companies in Basra and Maysan in order to expedite the process of investing in common fields .
Abdul-Jabbar explained that his ministry is working to complete these projects until 2025, and we will raise gas production to large quantities of 2500 to 3000 million cubic feet of gas, pointing out that all gas projects are either currently under implementation or under assignment or under preparation of the project.
