Talabani discusses with Trump’s envoy, relations between Baghdad and Erbil, and the tasks of the international coalition in Iraq

Baghdad / Al-Akhbariya: The

Deputy Prime Minister in the Kurdistan region, Qubad Talabani, discussed with the US President’s Special Envoy for the Syrian Affairs James Jeffrey today, Tuesday 9/22/2020, coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the international coalition, and the Erbil and Baghdad talks.

A statement by Talabani’s office said in a statement received by Al-Akhbariya, “The two sides discussed the Syrian situation and a mechanism to combat ISIS concerns in Iraq and Syria, and the two parties agreed on the need for more coordination between the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army and the coalition forces to end the fear of terrorism and violence.

In another aspect of the meeting, they talked about the draft federal budget law for the year 2020 and the stream of discussions in Erbil and Baghdad, which aim to solve outstanding problems and reach a fruitful and long-term agreement.
