Trump’s representative in Iraq and Syria meets with the President of the Kurdistan Region to discuss three files

Shafaq News / The US State Department announced today, Monday, that the US President’s Special Envoy for the International Coalition against ISIS and America’s Special Representative for Syria Affairs James Jefri will meet in Erbil, the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.

In a statement of the US State Department, which was reviewed by Shafaq News, regarding the visit, Jefri and senior officials in the Kurdistan Region will discuss continuous coordination to reassure the final defeat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria and the continuous efforts for stability in the liberated areas.

According to the statement, James Jeffrey will affirm the continued support for the Iraqi security forces, including the Peshmerga forces, in the war against ISIS, and renew America’s commitment to a strong, sovereign and prosperous Iraq.

The statement did not mention the date of the visit, but it comes at a time when Jeffrey is visiting Kurdish areas in Syria to hold talks with their parties.
