Shafaq News / The Iraqi Trade Bank announced, on Friday, that Salem Chalabi has taken over the management of the bank, as part of a series of changes in government positions recently launched by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

Prior to joining the Iraqi Trade Bank, Chalabi, who was educated in the United States of America, held high-ranking positions, the last of which was the position of legal advisor to the current prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi. He also participated in drafting the new Iraqi constitution after 2003, and was appointed head of the Iraqi War Crimes Court in 2004, and he He is also an advisor to former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi.

The Iraqi Trade Bank has witnessed remarkable development and growth, as the number of its branches inside Iraq reached 25, and the bank expanded externally, thus diversifying its portfolio of business with the first representative office of the bank in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, opening its first foreign branch in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A plan to expand in the future in several countries.

Salem Chalabi took over his new position, succeeding Faisal Al-Himas.

In a statement to the bank, Chalabi said, “I consider this position a great honor for me … and I value the confidence that the Prime Minister has given me, and I look forward to implementing the bank’s strategy to achieve sustainable growth and continue building on the strong and solid foundations that the bank has laid in the past years, to provide the best financial experience.” Banking for customers and developing the bank’s investments to expand its operations in the service of our country.
