Al-Kazemi Saleh: Iraq has an opportunity to build its economy and administrative system in a manner that best suits the interests of Iraqis

Baghdad / Al-Masala: On Friday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi discussed with the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, important issues and files and the outline of current challenges, as well as the latest preparations and efforts to hold the parliamentary elections.

A statement by Al-Kazemi Media Office, received by Al-Masalla, stated that during the meeting, important issues and files and the overall current challenges were discussed, as well as the latest preparations and efforts for holding the parliamentary elections.

During the meeting, which was attended by a number of Kurdish political leaders, Al-Kazemi indicated that Iraq today has a historic opportunity to overcome all the pitfalls of the past, and to start building its economy and administrative system in the best manner and most appropriate for the interests of all Iraqis of all sects.

And Al-Kazemi indicated that the present moment requires construction, solidarity, and learning from the mistakes that marred the process of building a new Iraq after the demise of dictatorship.

For his part, the President of the Republic praised the efforts of Al-Kazemi and his government team seeking reform, indicating that the government’s policy is characterized by great concern for the interests of Iraqis in all governorates of Iraq, and that it works to consolidate the rule of law, establish the prestige of the state, and uphold the word of law above all.

On Friday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi visited the tomb of the late former President of the Republic, Jalal Talabani, in Dabashan Hill in Sulaymaniyah, which he arrived today.

Al-Kazemi, Pavel Talabani and Lahore Sheikh Genki, the co-presidents of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, were received by a number of members of the Political Bureau and the leadership council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Al-Kazemi placed during his visit a wreath at the tomb of Talabani, to express his great appreciation for the important role of the late President in Iraq, the region and the world.

Al-Kazemi told reporters: The late Talabani was a symbol for all Iraqis and played a major role in building the new Iraq. He is the one who taught us everything.
