Shafaq News / The Kurdistan Regional Government delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani returned to Erbil on Wednesday after the conclusion of a round of talks during which he expressed the region’s readiness to agree on the oil file and financial revenues.
The spokesman for the Deputy Prime Minister, Samir Hawrami, said in a press statement that the high-ranking Kurdish delegation returned to Erbil after a series of meetings with the ministers of oil, finance and electricity in the federal government.
Regarding what was included in the meeting between the two sides, Hawrami explained that “the discussions were positive,” noting that the two sides had a detailed dialogue on the outstanding problems, especially the issue of the Kurdistan Region’s financial entitlements and how to include them in the draft Iraqi general budget law for the next year 2021, which the Iraqi government is now drafting.
Hawrami added that the meetings of the sub-committees will continue in Baghdad until an appropriate mechanism is reached, based on the constitution, in order to solve the legal and technical problems.
On the agreement on the outstanding issues, Hawrami said that the head of the delegation, Qubad Talabani, announced during the meetings that the regional government was ready to agree on the issue of the region’s oil revenues, border crossings and the issue of other non-oil revenues.
