{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A spokesman for the International Coalition, Miles Caggins, announced the formation of four coordination centers between the Peshmerga and the army in disputed areas.
“Both the Ministry of Peshmerga and the Iraqi Ministry of Defense have reached the formation of four joint coordination centers in the (disputed) areas,” Caggins said in a press conference, as his duties officially ended about a year after his assignment, and on the sixth anniversary of the coalition against ISIS.
“During the past weeks, we have witnessed communication and cooperation between the prime minister of the Kurdistan region and the Iraqi prime minister on several issues, including joint coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi forces to fill the security vacuum in those areas,” he added.
He added, “I think that it is better for the Iraqis to reach a common understanding and coordination between them regarding these areas, and in our turn we will support this understanding and coordination,” noting that the Minister of Peshmerga and the Iraqi Minister of Defense have established four joint coordination centers starting from Diyala and ending in the city of Tal Afar. To increase cooperation between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army. ”

According to Caggins, the international coalition carried out during its work 35 thousand sorties in Syria and Iraq, and also provided support and assistance to the Peshmerga, Iraqi forces and counterterrorism forces in terms of training, advice and assistance.
Caggins described the war against ISIS as a “fierce war” and said: “A large number of Peshmerga and other forces were martyred, and thousands were wounded. We will never forget those who sacrificed their lives, were martyred and wounded in order to protect civilians.”
He added, “The international coalition looks with appreciation and gratitude for the courage of the Peshmerga in the war against ISIS and in protecting the citizens, as a large number of them left their jobs, occupations and farms to take up arms and head to the battle fronts.”
On behalf of the General Command of the International Coalition Forces, Caggins expressed the coalition’s determination to continue its support and assistance to all the people of Iraq and northeastern Syria.
He reviewed a set of activities and achievements of the international coalition: “Since the beginning of 2020, the international coalition withdrew from eight small bases in Iraq, because the Iraqis and the Peshmerga have proven their success in fighting the remnants of ISIS, and we are now performing our advisory duties from our centers in Baghdad and Erbil.”
“These centers are very important, and two days ago, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi visited the Consulting Center for Joint Operations in Baghdad, which works side by side with our teams, and here in Erbil, we are working to establish a consultative center in the Kurdistan region to work with the center in Baghdad.”
The international coalition against ISIS consists of 15 countries, and Caggins says: “There is no need for any of our soldiers to fight on the battlefields or anywhere on the ground, there are more than 300,000 Peshmerga and Iraqi forces who can suppress ISIS … And the international coalition helps the forces.” Iraqi and Peshmerga in implementing their plans targeting ISIS, and sharing intelligence information.
On the humanitarian activities of the International Alliance, Caggins said: “The financial situation worsened due to the drop in oil prices, and the impact of the Corona epidemic on all areas, but the World Health Organization, through cooperation with America, last month provided medical aid worth $ 627,000 to the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan region, The Minister of Health, Mr. Saman Barzanji, received these aid, which included six ambulances, sixty ventilators, sixty beds and seven thousand test kits to detect corona.
