Iraqi Finance denies the resignation of its minister Allawi “due to a dispute over Kurdistan funds”

Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Finance denied, on Wednesday, reports that Minister Ali Allawi had resigned from his post.

Some local media reported that Allawi, who is visiting London, submitted his resignation “as a result of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s insistence on disbursing funds to the Kurdistan Region, in contravention of the law, and Erbil’s failure to pay the debts to Baghdad.”

However, a statement of finance received by Shafaq News denied this information, and called “some media outlets to exercise accuracy and caution in publishing news.”
