strengthen effective partnership within the framework of the tripartite coordination mechanism between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq and the Arab Republic of Egypt;
In an effort to deepen coordination, cooperation and strategic integration between the three brotherly countries, on the economic, developmental, political, security, cultural and other levels; And based on the foundations of joint Arab action and with the aim of consolidating it into a practical and fruitful action, within the framework of coordinating efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region;
His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, his brother His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his brother, His Excellency Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, held the “third” leaders meeting today, Tuesday, 08/25/2020, in the Jordanian capital Amman. leaders reviewed the developments of the tripartite mechanism’s path in its various sectors, and the results of the ministerial and technical sectoral meetings based on the outcomes of the second leaders ’summit held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on the twenty-second of September of 2019.
The leaders expressed Expressed their satisfaction with the level of political and strategic coordination and cooperation between the three countries.
The leaders stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and adopting the best ways and mechanisms to translate strategic relations on the ground, especially the economic and vital ones, such as electrical connectivity, energy projects, and the common economic zone, and to benefit from national capabilities and strive to integrate resources between the three brotherly countries, especially in light of the global implications of the emerging coronavirus pandemic on security. His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and His Excellency Mustafa Al-Kazemi praised His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein’s call to “reset globalization”, in order to reach better international integration and increase the positive interdependence between different countries, which invests in skills, capacity building and resources across borders, and achieves Benefit for people and lead to global synergy and prosperity.
The leaders stressed the importance of the consequences of the new Coronavirus pandemic not preventing continued coordination and cooperation in the targeted sectors, and the need to find practical channels to sustain tripartite cooperation.
The leaders directed the concerned ministers to focus on the health and medical sectors, education, energy, and intra-trade, to encourage investment and economic cooperation, and to benefit from the lessons of the emerging corona virus pandemic, in order to deepen cooperation in facing the consequences of the pandemic.
The leaders discussed ways to develop the tripartite mechanism and move it towards broader horizons of cooperation and coordination, by institutionalizing the tripartite coordination mechanism by establishing an executive secretariat, to be based annually in one of the three countries, provided that its headquarters for a year from the date of this meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs in the Kingdom The Hashemite Jordanian.
The leaders assigned foreign ministers to set the tasks entrusted to the executive secretariat, including the tasks of preparing for tripartite and ministerial summits, following up on their outputs, and submitting the necessary reports for leaders’ meetings.
As part of their endeavors to enhance and raise levels of economic cooperation, the leaders directed to hold a business forum on the sidelines of the first upcoming meeting of the trade and industry ministers of the three countries.
The leaders reviewed regional and international developments, and efforts to resolve regional crises and enhance regional peace and security.
The leaders emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause, and stressed the need to activate efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that meets all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, especially their right to an independent, sovereign and viable state on the entirety of its national territory and its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif, in accordance with international law and relevant international legitimacy decisions and an initiative. Arab peace.
The leaders affirmed that resolving the conflict on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and in a manner that meets all legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, is the only way to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
They stressed the need for Israel to stop annexing any Palestinian lands and all measures that undermine the chances of achieving a just peace, and aim to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
They emphasized the importance of the historical role of the Hashemite guardianship in protecting these sanctities and their Arab and Islamic identity.
The leaders emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to reach political solutions to the crises in the region, especially the crises in Syria, Libya and Yemen, in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions and the approved references, in a manner that preserves the unity of these countries, their independence and the capabilities of their people, preserves Arab national security, and prevents external interventions aimed at destabilizing security Arab nationalist.
The leaders also discussed developments in the issue of the Renaissance Dam, and stressed that the water security of the Arab Republic of Egypt is an integral part of Arab national security, and the need to reach a fair and balanced agreement on the basis of international law that preserves the water rights and interests of Egypt and Sudan, as they are both downstream countries.
The leaders reiterated their affirmation of standing by the Republic of Iraq in protecting its sovereignty, security and stability, and its efforts to consecrate security and stability, achieve the aspirations of its people, and consolidate the great victory achieved by brotherly Iraq with great sacrifices against terrorism, which constitutes a common enemy.
The leaders discussed the current Arab situation, its interaction with its regional environment, and the real challenges that the Arab system suffers from, which make strengthening it a basic necessity, to strengthen Arab national security and to stop foreign interference in Arab internal affairs.
The summit was attended by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, His Majesty’s Adviser for Policies, the Director of General Intelligence, and the two delegations accompanying the Egyptian President and the Iraqi Prime Minister.
