{Baghdad: Al Furat News} Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said that Iraq “will not be allowed to be a launching pad for any attack on Iran.”
Al-Kazemi said during a joint press conference with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani after their meeting in Tehran today, “My visit today confirms the importance of the historical ties that link Iraq and Iran. Today we are facing the challenges of Corona and the drop in oil prices. Therefore, coordination must exist between the two countries.”
He added, “We discussed the conditions of the region and how to establish peace, especially in light of Corona’s challenges,” stressing that “the Iraqi people are loving and eager for relations with Iran in accordance with the principle of non-interference in internal affairs.”
And Al-Kazemi said: Iran was one of the first countries that stood beside Iraq in the fight against terrorism, and the Iraqis will not forget that, stressing that “Iraq’s policy is based on goodwill in the relationship with neighboring countries.
” It can be reached without cooperation. ”
Al-Kazemi pointed out that “Iraq is searching for stability and must be strong and stable to be supportive of neighboring countries and the region. We discussed with President Rouhani the activation and revitalization of the agreements between us and I hope that these consensuses will see the light soon.”
He concluded by “by thanking Iran for its support in the Iraq war against terrorism and against the Corona virus.”
For his part, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, “After months of assuming the leadership of Al-Kazemi in Iraq, we find that the commercial activity has improved between the two countries and Iran will stand with all its capabilities to provide Iraq with the requirements it needs to combat the Corona virus.”
Rouhani added: We announce our readiness to exchange views between health officials in Iran and Iraq.
He added, “Iran confirmed that just as it stood beside Iraq in fighting terrorism, it is ready to help it establish security. Today, the two heroes of the two terrorist wars, the two martyrs Soleimani and the engineer who worked hard against terrorism in Iraq, are invoked.”
Rouhani said: We also discussed regional issues and the role that Iraq can play as a strong country at the regional level. ”
He added,“ I confirm my confidence that this visit will represent a turning point in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries. ”
He pointed out that“ the discussions covered raising the volume of trade to $ 20 billion level. ”
