Shafaq News / Parliamentary sources said on Saturday that the leader of the “Al-Fateh” coalition, Secretary General of the Badr Organization, has submitted a formal request to resign from the Iraqi parliament.

The sources told Shafaq News that Al-Amiri submitted a formal request to the presidency of the parliament to resign, without further details.

This comes at a time when a session was held in the Iraqi parliament with the presence of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to vote on the remaining vacant ministerial portfolios.

A parliamentary source said that the quorum for the meeting was achieved with the attendance of 247 members of the Council from various parliamentary blocs.
