Shafaq News / The Kurdistan Democratic Party blessed the first party in the Kurdistan Region on Saturday, sharply criticizing the demands of political parties to disarm the forces of the Kurdistan Region Peshmerga.
A spokesman for the bloc, Aram Balti, said in a statement today that “there have appeared, and people are trying to mix the cards by calling them to include the Peshmerga forces with the issue of restricting weapons to the state.”
He added that “while these people are trying to shirk from the application of the constitution and this mass demand, which prevents society from entering into a state of anarchy, by mixing forces that operate within the state and those that lack constitutional and legal legitimacy, so that this demand does not apply Constitutional, we would like to remind them that the Peshmerga forces, in addition to its militant history and massive sacrifices, in order to liberate Iraq from the yoke of dictatorship.
He added, “These forces possess constitutional legitimacy according to Article 121 Fifth, and if there is someone who does not believe in the constitution or does not understand it, or does not like the acquired rights of the people of the Kurdistan Region, then we affirm once again the need to obey the supreme law in the country and not to renounce the social contract – The politician agreed upon by the Iraqis in 2005 to build a federal state based on democracy and human rights, and everyone should be aware that the authority of the state administration is the constitution. “
He stressed by saying, “We will not submit to the constitutional frameworks for the mood of whoever was, and the clock cannot go back, and that the legitimate constitutional rights of the people of Kurdistan are not negotiable and political deals.”
On the other hand, Balti stated that “we show the Iraqi public opinion that we have not yet entered into the details of forming the government in terms of the ministries and the people who will manage those ministries, but we confirm that this decision will be taken in Kurdistan and in consultation with the Prime Minister-designate, without accepting the guardianship of a person Or a party with known goals and objectives. “
They also said that “the national interest today requires relying on the logic of reason and adherence to the constitution, and managing the country through national partnership without fabricating crises, as the country is going through a sensitive stage that requires the concerted all national efforts that are keen on the stability of the country.”
Deputy Muhammad al-Ghabban, head of the “Al-Fath” coalition led by Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, said in a press interview that “the peshmerga forces will be included in the decision to confine arms to the state,” after the formation of the next Iraqi government headed by intelligence chief Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
