Parliament Speaker Khadija Ali confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi sent an official letter to the Council in order to hold a session on Monday, revealing the parliament’s position on the session.

And Ali said in a press statement: “The Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi sent an official letter to the Presidency of the Parliament to prepare an emergency session next Monday to announce his cabinet.”

She added: “But until now, there was no official initiative by Muhammad Al-Halbousi [Speaker of Parliament] to hold any session, and there was no initiative to inform MPs about the cabinet.”

She added, “Al-Halbousi was not officially announced at the session, in addition to that the MPs also need to know the names of the ministers who are nominated to occupy the ministries 48 hours ago.”
