The former lawmaker, Mishaan al-Jubouri, revealed, on Thursday, that the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, refused to assign Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to the post of prime minister of the transitional government.
Al-Jubouri said in a tweet on his Twitter today, that “it is an irony of Iraq that some symbols of the protests and Mr. Nuri al-Maliki are taking the same position, which is the refusal to assign Muhammad Allawi to head the transitional government.”
A well-informed political source confirmed, in a press statement, that the position of Prime Minister had been decided and the appointment of former Minister Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to head the transitional government, replacing the resigned Adel Abdul Mahdi.
