The leader of the Sadrist movement, the governor of Zamili, revealed on Saturday (January 25, 2020) the reasons for the withdrawal of Sadrists’ supporters from the demonstration arenas, indicating that the tweets of the leader of the movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, prompted his followers to withdraw from the arenas.
Al-Zamili said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (conscious), “Many of the Peace Corps, Sadrists, and owners of logistical support are grave in providing supplies and food when they see Mr. Sadr not supportive of the demonstrations. Censured some demonstrators in Tahrir Square and other squares in the provinces. ”
Al-Zamili indicated that “Al-Sadr stressed that he will not interfere with the demonstrations, neither in the negative nor in the affirmative, until they take into account the fate of Iraq, which means that from now on he will not interfere with the demonstrators until they take into account the interest of Iraq.”
The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, had directed, on Friday (January 24, 2020), the threshold of the liberation demonstrators, while he declared his innocence from every politician who stands in the way of forming a strong and independent government.
Sadr said, in a tweet on the Twitter platform: “I express my regret and blame on those who questioned me (the Tahrir Square) demonstrators and the rest of the provinces who I was supporting them after God, and I thought them support me and Iraq.”
Al-Sadr expressed his anger and innocence, “from every politician who tries to delay the wheel of progress, by forming a strong, independent, sovereign and patriotic government, with integrity and competence, away from us occupation and external interference as a whole.”
