Baghdad / Al-Ghad Press:
Today, Friday, Tahrir Square and its surrounding areas in Baghdad witnessed a relative calm after hot and bloody days, during which dozens of dead and wounded were among the demonstrators.
The Al-Ghad Press correspondent said that Al-Tayaran Square and the area near Cordoba Square under the Mohammed Al-Qasim Bridge and the highway are now witnessing a state of relative calm.
He added that the riot police from time to time shoot in the air or advance towards the demonstrators by wheels or on foot and then retreat, as there were no clashes since the day before yesterday.
It is noteworthy that in the past few days, this area witnessed hit-and-run operations between demonstrators and riot police, who used live bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse them.
