A spokesman for the current leader reveals an American request to meet Al-Sadr … and the location of the million demonstration will be at the intersection of Baghdad University

Baghdad / Obelisk: Wednesday 22 January 2020, a spokesman for the leader of the Sadrist movement, Salah al-Ubaidi, revealed that the leader of the movement was rejecting an American request for a meeting with the United States under the auspices of the United Nations.

Al-Ubaidi said in a television interview, “The demonstrations of sovereignty that will be at the intersection of Baghdad University near the Jadiriyah area and far from Tahrir Square,” noting that “Al-Sadr called for a demonstration of sovereignty and we do not prevent the Iraqis from participating in it,” stressing that it is “a demonstration of the ability of the people to attend before the American administration.” “.

He added, “The protest call is not due to Iranian pressure.”

 A spokesman for Al-Sadr said, “We have a careful follow-up of all protests in the demonstrations square, and we heard many insults from some quarters in some squares,” noting that “the presence of some intruders did not prevent the Sadrist movement from supporting the demonstrations because it works to expel and keep away the corrupt.”

Al-Ubaidi revealed that “Al-Sadr rejected many offers for a meeting with the United States under the auspices of the United Nations,” noting that “Al-Sadr cannot be on the personal dimensions of some parties,” explaining that “it is not acceptable to generalize mistakes on the popular crowd and Tishreen rebels.”

And on the formation of the next government, a spokesman for Sadr said, “The coalition of Saeroon did not impose any candidate for prime minister on President of the Republic Barham Saleh.”

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, had called on Tuesday (January 14, 2020) for a million demonstration next Friday, to reject the American presence.
