Baghdad / Al-Ikhbaria:
The parliamentary bloc Al-Fateh warned against popular escalation and military confrontations in the event of a delay by the American forces for their continued presence in Iraq.
The head of the bloc, Deputy Muhammad Al-Ghabban, told a news agency followed by “Al-Akhbariya” that the Iraqi government is required to take measures to end the presence of foreign forces in the country, especially after the recent decision of the House of Representatives.
Al-Ghabban added that any delay or deterrence by the American forces will lead to popular escalation and military confrontations against them, warning against destabilizing the region’s security and damaging the relationship between Baghdad and Washington.
He pointed out that the National Security Council voted to remove the foreign forces after the leaders of the security and military services emphasized that they were not needed.
