Saleh stresses to Ihsanoglu, rejecting the principle of proxy war and making Iraq the starting point for any aggression

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) Today, Thursday, Turkish President Barham Salih received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu and his accompanying delegation.

The President of the Republic stressed during the meeting, according to a presidential statement, “The importance of joint action and coordination to spare Iraq and the region conflicts and wars, and rejected the principle of proxy war, and that Iraq should not be the starting point for any aggression against any neighboring country.

” And calm in order to enjoy the peoples of the region stability, security and welfare.

For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s support for the sovereignty and stability of Iraq, pointing to the need to reduce escalating tension and dependency on constructive dialogue to deal with the sensitive situations that the region is currently going through.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey, in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly peoples.

Regional and international developments, and common issues between the two countries, were also discussed
