Parliament Speaker Mohamed Al-Halbousi confirmed today, Tuesday, that an attempt to storm the US embassy is “an unacceptable behavior” that harms the interests of Iraq.
Al-Halbousi said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by “Al-Ghad Press”, that “an attempt to storm the American embassy and assault its headquarters is an unacceptable behavior that harms Iraq’s higher interests and offends the image of our people.”
“It is an act inconsistent with international norms and agreements,” he added, calling on the government to “confirm its obligations under its legal obligations to protect the headquarters of diplomatic missions.”
