The Tahrir Square demonstrators thanked the President of the Republic for his refusal of the party candidates and for his standing with the demands of the demonstrators.

A building coalition attacks the Iraqi president and calls on parliament to dismiss him

On Thursday, 170 signatories of the specifications of the next prime minister, Barham Salih, resigned.
The deputies said in a statement received by “Al-Ghad Press”, that “we are the deputies who sign the specifications of the next prime minister, and after we have seen the president’s message addressed to parliament, we announce our clear position by refusing to resign or even hinting at it.”
They stressed that “national and popular options are the final word in the form and features of the next prime minister, away from partisanship and quotas, and in line with the aspirations of the Iraqi people and the steps for reform and change.”
Calling on the national powers to “support the choices of the masses and the wishes of the President of the Republic to allow him to choose the national character that meets the popular aspirations and brings us to safety.”

Al-Akhbariya got a letter sent by the President of the Republic Barham Salih to the Governor of Basra and the candidate of the Construction Alliance for the Prime Minister, on the latter’s failure to appear in the presidency.

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A parliamentary source revealed that the Presidency of Parliament received the message of the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, in which he threatened to resign and rejected the candidate of the building bloc Asaad Al-Eidani for the prime minister.
The source stated to {Euphrates News}, that “the presidency of the parliament considers the response to President Saleh within two days.”
The President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, refused today to assign the candidate of the parliamentary “Al-Bena” parliamentary bloc to head the government, saying that he was ready to submit his resignation to Parliament.
The construction bloc, led by Hadi al-Amiri, which currently holds the largest number of seats in parliament, has submitted the name of Asaad Abdul Amir al-Aidani, the governor of Basra, as its candidate for the position of prime minister.
Saleh pointed out that the higher interest of the country requires that the candidate be a “calming factor”, and in choosing him in response to the will of the people.
Saleh said: “Starting from my desire to bloodshed and protect civil peace, and with all respect and appreciation to Al-Aidani, I apologize for appointing him as a candidate for (the building block).”
The protests have invaded Iraq since October 1, and the protesters, who are mostly young people, are calling for a change of the entire political system because, in their opinion, they are corrupt and have left most Iraqis in poverty.
More than 450 people were killed in the protests, and thousands were wounded.
The former Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, resigned last month and remains in office to conduct business, despite continued protests.

President of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, called on Thursday for the formation of an interim government headed by Barham Salih, which paves the way for early elections.
