The Popular Mobilization Commission (PMU) announced Friday that the PMU will not take part in any field security operation to protect demonstrators or counter violence in cities.
“The Popular Mobilization confirms that until this moment it has not participated in any field security operation to protect the demonstrators or to confront the violence inside the cities,” the commission said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press. They have fallen in recent events because the response of the Ashura Brigades is untrue and is only a clear evasion of responsibility for what is happening there. ”
The commission called on “political officials to assume their responsibilities and avoid the involvement of security institutions in the drops of operations by some media known to hostility to the Iraqi people and work to sow discord.”
