The spokesman of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf, said on Sunday that 92% of the injured protesters were discharged from hospitals.

“92% of the injured protesters were discharged from hospitals,” Khalaf told a news conference. “There are three types of injured, light, moderate and serious.”

He added that “the Interior Minister does not allow the use of weapons in the vicinity of the demonstrations,” adding that “the counter-terrorism agency does not intervene to break up the demonstrations.”

He stressed that “the involvement of students in the demonstrations, as happened in 40 schools next to Karkh, is a violation of childhood.”
