US Defense Secretary: It is not intended to keep our troops withdrawn to Iraq for a long time

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said on Tuesday the goal of withdrawing US troops from Syria to Iraq was to send them home.

Esper said today that the goal is not to keep US troops withdrawing from Syria in Iraq “for a long time.”

The Joint Iraqi Operations Command said there was no agreement that US troops withdrawing from Syria would remain inside Iraqi territory.

A statement by the leadership, “some media and news agencies have made statements regarding the withdrawal of US troops from Syria towards Iraq and therefore the Joint Operations Command shows that all US forces that withdrew from Syria obtained approval to enter the Kurdistan region to move out of Iraq. There is no consent to stay These forces are inside Iraq. ”

The US-led coalition pulled out of its largest military base in northern Syria after Washington and Ankara struck an agreement on the safe area in Syria and headed directly into the Kurdistan region.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Peshmerga Jabbar Yawar, that the withdrawal of US forces from northern Syria towards the region through the port of Fishkhabur (Simalka) was in coordination with the federal government and the US government and the knowledge of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Yawar said: “The stability of these forces in the region or western Iraq depends on the US decision in coordination with the federal government.
