Deputy: Parliament monitors the government and will hold it accountable if reform packages are not implemented

Raad al-Dahlaki, a member of the Alliance for Reform and Reconstruction, said on Friday that the House of Representatives has pledged to monitor the government in the application of reform packages and decisions issued, and will be held accountable in the event of repudiation.
Raad al-Dahlaki, in an interview with (Baghdad today), that “the House of Representatives worked hard to issue a package of reforms, which committed the government in its implementation and implementation.”
Dahlaki added, “The Presidency of the parliament also promised the demonstrators that they will follow up the implementation of the reform packages issued by the House of Representatives, as well as issued by the government.”
He continued, “The House of Representatives will work to hold any institution or government agency, and even the Prime Minister, in the case of obstructing the application of reform packages.”
Abdul-Mahdi announced a set of decisions during the emergency session of the government, which chaired last Saturday, and took a package of decisions in response to the demands of the demonstrators, most notably open the door to apply for residential land for low-income people and complete the distribution of housing plots for beneficiaries.
The decisions of the special session also included strengthening the housing fund balance to increase borrowers and exempt them from interest, in addition to granting 150 thousand people who do not have the ability to work monthly grants and the establishment of modern marketing complexes or so-called kiosks in Baghdad and other provinces, to provide employment opportunities for young people.
The capital Baghdad, along with other provinces, witnessed in the first week of October this year, popular demonstrations against the deterioration of services and the spread of unemployment and corruption, including violence that led to the deaths of more than 100 demonstrators and a security element and the injury of thousands, while the three presidencies launched initiatives and promises to respond To the demands of the demonstrators.
Some areas of the capital are still witnessing intensive security, especially in the roads and vital intersections, which were cut during the demonstrations, while the authorities reopened the Green Zone in central Baghdad, and the Internet service was partially restored.
