The Kurdistan Regional Government has proposed to Baghdad to pay its debts amounting to $ 24 billion, demanding the allocation of 63 billion dinars to the Peshmerga forces, pledging to ensure the sending of money from the imports of oil sales amounting to 250 thousand barrels per day.
The MP from the National Union bloc Hassan Ali, in a press statement, that “officials in the Kurdistan Regional Government demanded the government delegation that visited the region, the share of the Kurdistan region of federal budgets for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, which was deducted in a key era Prime Minister Nuri al – Maliki and Haider al – Abadi.
He pointed out that “the region proposed to the federal government also to pay its debts and wages of oil companies, amounting to 24 billion dollars.”
He added, “Erbil called on the government in Baghdad, to raise the proportion of the province’s share of the federal budget for the next year 2020, to 17 percent,” pointing out that “the region pledged to send financial imports for the sale of 250 thousand barrels of oil on a daily basis.”
He continued that “the delegation of the federal government and officials of the region, discussed the application of a number of constitutional articles, the most important activation of Article 140, the normalization of the situation in areas cut off from the region, as well as the allocation of seats of aviation college courses for officers of the Peshmerga forces and the disbursement of the financial amounts to the Ministry of Peshmerga, amounting to 63 billion dinars, noting that No allocations have been received from these funds. ”
The President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, arrived last Tuesday, an official visit to the city of Erbil, and held meetings with officials in the region on the outstanding problems between Erbil and Baghdad, during which he discussed the financial problems between the governments of the region and the Center and held a meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government and his deputy Qubad Talabani.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbousi, heading a high-level delegation on Thursday, arrived in Erbil, where he was received by the Presidency of the Parliament of Kurdistan, while discussions focused on ways to resolve the outstanding problems between Baghdad and the region.
