The head of the Popular Mobilization, Mohammed al-Basri, said on Sunday that the crowd had “evidence” that Israel was involved in the bombing of the crowd in Iraq.

“This evidence will be submitted to the UN Security Council, through National Security Adviser Faleh al-Fayyad, in the coming period,” Basri said.

He pointed out that “Fayyad taking international diplomatic methods, to stop the external targeting operations against the sites of the Popular Mobilization, which is part of the official Iraqi defense system.”

A security source told Shafaq News earlier in the day that a leader of the Popular Mobilization was killed by the bombing of a drone in the border city of Qaim between Iraq and Syria.

A security source told Twilight News, that a drone targeted two vehicles in the afternoon this afternoon in the 45th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization in Al-Qaim, killing two people, including a leader in the crowd.

He said the shelling targeted members of the Hezbollah battalions.

The deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, blamed the United States for the operations targeting the headquarters of the crowd, through “the introduction of four Israeli drones” to Iraq to “carry out sorties targeted Iraqi military headquarters.”

The engineer threatened in his statement that the crowd will treat any foreign aircraft flying over its positions without the knowledge of the Iraqi government, as “hostile” aircraft.

However, the head of the rally, Faleh al-Fayyad, distanced himself from pointing the finger at the United States.

The Pentagon has denied the crowd’s accusations.

“We are not involved in the recent blasts,” a Pentagon spokesman said, adding that the US presence in Iraq was to support the country’s efforts against militants.

Four bases used by the Popular Mobilization, which includes pro-Iranian Shi’ite factions, have been hit by mysterious explosions last month, the latest of which was last Tuesday, at a headquarters near Balad air base, which houses US military north of Baghdad.
