Catholic Church announced the list of countries to visit the Pope Catholics in 2020, including the Kurdistan Region.
Pope Francis will begin his tour of the Middle East as part of the “Human Brotherhood” document signed by him and Sheikh Al-Azhar in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi in February.
The Pope will visit the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and the city of Najaf, where he will meet the Shiite cleric, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, then visit the Kurdistan region, and will meet in Erbil with senior officials of the region and representatives of the Christian component.
