Halabousi congratulates Eid: We hope to start the reconstruction phase and return all displaced people

Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halbousi congratulated the Iraqi people and the Arab and Islamic worlds on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
“I offer my sincere congratulations to the people of Iraq and the Arab and Muslim worlds on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, asking the Almighty to make it a good and safe day for our country,” he said.
“We hope the return of all displaced people to their areas, stability, and the start of reconstruction and prosperity.”

In a telephone conversation between President Barham Saleh and Kurdistan Region President-elect Nechirvan Barzani on Monday, the latter issued an official invitation in favor of attending the decrees of his swearing-in as head of the region.

He said in a telephone conversation between Barzani and Saleh, in addition to his official invitation to attend the performance of the right of the President of the Kurdistan Region, discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region and the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides agreed in the opinion on the concern to maintain unity and coordination in these sensitive circumstances in the region, stressing the unification of efforts to overcome the differences and the dimensions of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region from the complexities.

At the same time, both sides stressed the need for coordination and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government in the next stage, and wished that this occasion is a cause of stability and calm and the end of crises.

The President of the Republic Barham Salih and Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Monday agreed on the need for Iraq to keep away from the policy of axes in the region, and work to solve problems in the provinces of Kirkuk and Diyala.

This came in a meeting gathered today in Baghdad, according to a presidential statement.

The statement said that the international and regional situations were discussed, Iraq’s role is based on keeping away from the policy of axes, continuing to abide by its clear policy, its supreme national interests, its independent national decision, and spare the country the effects of conflicts and crises.

The statement added that the results of the Arab summit and the 14th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) were held in Mecca recently.

During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Kirkuk and Diyala, stressing the necessity of exerting efforts to solve the problems faced by the two provinces, to confront terrorism and to enhance security and social peace.
