Parliament resumes its sessions Wednesday by voting and reading six bills

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The House of Representatives will resume its regular sessions on Wednesday.

The agenda of the session includes “voting on the draft financial management bill, the first reading of the draft law of the media and communications authority, the first reading of the draft law of the Supreme Iraqi Maritime Authority, and the first reading of the draft law of accession of the Republic of Iraq to the agreement of the Asian Investment Bank for infrastructure.”

It also includes the report and discussion of the draft industrial cities law, and the report and discussion of the draft law of the first amendment to the Integrity Commission Act No. 30 of 2011.

The session begins at 1 pm.

The Babylonian Council will announce an official holiday on Tuesday

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The Council of Babylon decided to consider on Tuesday an official holiday on the anniversary of the fall of the regime and the martyrdom of Mr. Mohammed Sadiq al-Sadr.

A member of the Council of Babel Radi Jubouri said in a press statement that “the Council decided to consider on Tuesday an official holiday for all institutions and services of the state except service on the occasion of the fall of the regime and the martyrdom of Mr. Mohammed Sadiq al-Sadr.

Pompeo warns foreign banks of dealing with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday warned all “companies and banks around the world” of dealing with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) after being listed by Washington as a terrorist organization.

“Companies and banks around the world have a clear responsibility to ensure that all institutions with which they conduct financial transactions have no material relationship with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards,” Pompeo said.

The Iranian minister said that the Iranian regime “not only supports terrorism, but is itself involved in acts of terrorism”

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) decided on Monday to disrupt the official working day of Tuesday.

“On Tuesday, corresponding to the ninth of April, will be an official holiday in the departments and institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Iraq and the fall of the former dictatorial regime,” the spokesman for the provincial government Sven Dzai said in a statement.
