Brent crude on Monday hit $ 69 a barrel for the first time since November 2018, according to stock exchange data.
July Brent crude futures rose 2.15% to $ 69.03 a barrel.
The main factors behind the rise in oil prices were the return of risk to markets, as well as preliminary data on OPEC production levels in March.
OPEC countries cut oil output in March to a four-year low, according to a Reuters survey.
