BAGHDAD (Reuters) – The US ambassador to Baghdad, Douglas Seelman, has completed his job in Iraq after more than two years in office.

Halaboussi also stressed the importance of developing cooperation with Washington, praising the American security and economic support, calling for more joint cooperation in all fields and contributing to the development and stability of Iraq and the region in general. 
For his part, Silliman stressed the deep ties of friendship between the two countries, noting his country’s keenness to continue supporting the democratic experience in Iraq, and the commitment to stand by him in the face of economic and security challenges.
US President Donald Trump nominated Matthew Toler as US ambassador to Iraq instead of Sullivan. 
Toller is the US ambassador to Yemen since 2014 and was ambassador to Kuwait, as he has worked for Washington embassies in Cairo, Baghdad, Kuwait and Riyadh in various positions. 
He served in the US State Department as deputy director of the North Gulf office and an official in the Egyptian office, as well as a deputy director of the North Gulf Affairs Office at the Foreign Ministry. 
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Prigam Yang University and a Master’s degree from Harvard University, an SIA Intelligence Award and two Presidential Honorary Awards, a Baker Wilkins Award from the State Department for the post of Deputy Chief of Mission, and fluent in Arabic.

Abdul Mahdi receives official invitation to visit Saudi Arabia

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi received the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Baghdad Abdul Aziz bin Khalid al-Shammari.

The Ambassadors received by the Prime Minister in his official office today are Algeria’s Ambassador Abdelkader Ben Shuaa, Chinese Ambassador Sheng Weicheng, Canadian Ambassador Robert Paul Jibart, Turkish Ambassador Faleh Yildez and Mauritania Ambassador Sidi Ould Cheikh Ould Ahmed Aicha.
Abdul Mahdi also received Saudi Ambassador to Baghdad Abdulaziz bin Khalid Al-Shammari, who conveyed an official invitation from the King of Saudi Arabia to the Prime Minister to visit the Kingdom, which he promised to meet at the right time.

The Association of Iraqi Private Banks concluded Thursday the “Accounting for Financial Institutions” course, in which 20 trainees took part.

The director of administration and training in the Association of Private Banks, Ahmed Hashemi, during the closing session, which was attended by “economy News”, “The Association of Iraqi private banks happy with the courses organized by the banking sector because it rises in this important sector.”

“The Association of Private Banks focuses on the quality of its courses as well as its cooperation with competent lecturers, both local and foreign.”

Hashemi listened to the interventions of a number of participants in the session and pledged to meet the Association of Iraqi private banks for those observations.

In turn, the assistant director general of the Accounting Department of the Central Bank of Iraq, Anwar Sarraf, that “the sessions organized at the headquarters of the Association of Iraqi private banks consistent with the standards of the Central Bank.”

He added that “the certificates obtained by participants in these courses reflect an important indicator for the acceptance of them as employees in banks.”

It is noteworthy that the Association of Iraqi private banks signed, in November last, a memorandum of understanding with the Center for Studies in the Central Bank of Iraq to develop mutual understanding in the practical areas of professional and training applied.
