Oil Minister: Kirkuk’s exports will remain restricted

Economy News _ Baghdad

Iraq’s oil exports from Kirkuk’s northern fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan will remain between 80,000 and 90,000 bpd, with most of the crude produced to feed refineries in the north, Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban said on Wednesday.

At the same press conference, Farid al-Jadir, director of the North Oil Company, said the current production from the Kirkuk fields was about 370,000 bpd, adding that a technical team of BP is now operating in Kirkuk and will prepare a study to review plans to increase production by the end of 2019.
