In a press conference in Arbil after a visit to Baghdad and the Gulf states, Barzani, for example, hit an example. “I never imagine that Abdul Mahdi will do what his predecessor did,” he said, referring to Haidar al-Abbadi.

But Barzani stressed that Abdul Mahdi, “not those who want to harm the people of Kurdistan.”
Barzani was one of the first leaders to declare his support for the government of Abdul Mahdi, and confirmed this during his visit to Baghdad.
