Economy News Baghdad The European Union (EU) on Tuesday approved a new funding package of 56.5 million euros as part of its Iraq reconstruction plan aimed at increasing employment and support for refugees and displaced persons in Iraq. The European Union statement on its official website indicated that the total development assistance from the Union for Iraq in the current year would rise to 129 million euros. These amounts are part of the Federation’s commitment to the Iraq Reconstruction Conference in Kuwait last February, with a pledge of € 400 million. Iraq faces significant challenges in reconstruction operations in conflict-affected areas.
