Baghdad:
The vote of the House of Representatives to stop the work of the decisions of former Prime Minister Haider Abadi during the caretaker government ‘dissolution’ contracts of electric power concluded with the General Electric Company of America.
“All the decisions taken by Abadi and his government during the period of running the business since the first of last July until the end of its tasks are covered by the decision of the House of Representatives to suspend and review them,” MP Hassan Alawi said in a press statement.
He noted that ‘among the decisions that have been suspended, awarded contracts for the processing of electric power to the General Electric Company of America’.
He added that ‘the new Minister of Electricity Loay Khatib is determined to reconsider the granting of contracts for the processing of electricity to the General Electric Company in cooperation with the Energy Committee of the Representative’.
The House of Representatives voted during its regular session on Wednesday to suspend the work of Abadi and his government since July 1 until the end of its tasks.
