ERBIL — Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi said on Tuesday that the relations between the central government of Iraq and the regional government in Kurdistan Region was “good”.
“We have good relations with the Kurdistan Regional government. We will soon resolve the issues pertaining oil exports,” Mahdi told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
Mahdi was appointed as the Iraqi premier last month. Since then, his efforts have been unfruitful for establishing a full cabinet.
Due to political disputes, Mahdis cabinet lacks eight main ministers while14 are already approved by the parliament.
The prime minister said the vacant positions would be filled “very soon”, without giving further details.
